There must be something in the water or something going on with planetary alignments because I feel like the entire month of October - so far - has been insane and I can't get my grasp on any of it! The kids have been sick, incredibly demanding, making lots of developmental leaps, my daughter turned two, my husband is traveling, family is visiting, there are a million activities happening at my son's school ... it's just one thing after the other. None of it is bad, per se, but it seems like when it all happens within such a short window, it seems overwhelming.
That said, there has been very little time to write, because there are just not enough hours in the day. To do anything.
But I have finally hit the 25k word count mark on a new fiction manuscript I've been working on and I think I've finally figured out 'who done it!' But, as you may know, that can always change as the story and the characters take on a life of their own.
I'm still researching publishers and agents in an attempt to find a home for my nonfiction book dedicated to Postpartum Mood Disorders, my fiction thriller 'Minds of Madness' which is a fictionalized telling of all of the worst-case scenarios a postpartum woman might face when people don't take their illnesses seriously, and I actually just pitched my children's series "The Mysterious Adventures of Maggie McGee" for the first time in 10 years. After pitching that series for about six months straight in 2008 with nothing but rejections, I decided to self-publish and the five books have been available on Amazon since then, but I think it's time they got the publishing and attention they deserve.
